This privacy policy explains how Smie AS ("we", "us") handles data in connection with the Smie app and this website. We are the data controller.

We don't require an account

The app has no sign-up and we do not ask for or collect your name, email address, or other information that directly identifies you.

What we collect

• Usage analytics — limited data about how the app is used (e.g. features used, sessions, app version, device type and operating system), to understand and improve the app.
• Diagnostics & crash reports — technical data when the app crashes or misbehaves (e.g. device model, OS version, app version, error logs), to find and fix problems.

This data may include identifiers such as an IP address or a device/usage identifier. We do not use it to identify you personally, but under the GDPR such identifiers can still count as personal data, which is why we explain our handling here.

Payments

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

Why we process this data (legal basis)

We rely on our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in operating, securing, maintaining and improving the app.

Who processes data for us

We use third-party providers acting on our behalf: Apple App Analytics and Amplitude for analytics, Apple for app distribution, payments, and crash/diagnostic reporting, and Cloudflare for hosting this website. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

Only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Because we do not collect identifying information, we may be unable to link stored data to you and therefore unable to fulfil some requests (GDPR Art. 11). To exercise your rights, contact us at support@smie.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no).

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
